Mathematics
Overview
Our curriculum strives to build strong mathematical knowledge and essential problem-solving skills in every student. By fostering a culture of high expectations and equitable access, we ensure meaningful learning experiences. We are committed to continuously monitoring student progress and refining our instructional strategies to meet diverse needs and maximize learning outcomes.
Curriculum Framework
Curriculum Highlights
Junior Grade Mathematics Curriculum (G7 – G9)
The junior curriculum is designed based on the syllabus recommended by Education Bureau, and aims to enhance students’ numeracy and problem-solving skills in three dimensions as follows:
Junior Grade Mathematics Curriculum
Number and Algebra
Measures, Shape and Space
Data Handling
Theme-based Learning (TBL) in Junior Grades
In alignment with the EDB’s recent promotion of mathematical modelling, we have also integrated Theme-based Learning into the junior curriculum. Throughout the academic year, students from G7 to G9 conduct comprehensive projects that require them to apply their subject knowledge to real-world scenarios. This hands-on approach allows students to clearly see the practical utility and value of mathematics in everyday life.
Integrated Mathematics Curriculum (G10)
In Grade10, all students will study the Mathematics Compulsory Part under the HKDSE curriculum. Our school also provides alternative study pathways for students to choose from. Students can join the IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics top-up programmes in Grade 10, and study A-Level Mathematics in Grades 11 – 12.
1. Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) - Mathematics
For more capable students, they can choose to study the Extended Part (Module 1 or Module 2) depending on their interest and ability.
